This dress is the style of the moment. Simple and classic it can be dressed up for a garden party or worn to a nice brunch. The material is light and airy sutible for blowing in the summer winds. There is an elegence about its simplicity that makes this dress pop while remaining subtle.

Of course in preparing for spring and summer we have to prepare for those spring and summer nights. The trend this year is lacy, sheer, sparkly, and flirty. These dresses give examples of what to wear these summer nights.
This is the promotional video for AKIRA's spring/summer fashion show held recently at the lyric opera. I think it depects the trends of the season in an artictic way that shows fashion is more than an industry it is an art. When shopping for the spring it's impotant to remeber fashion is not just about trends. It's about expression. It's about art.
This song is uplifting and depicts the mood of spring. It is a song about letting go and embracing beauty. It was used at a photo shoot and I think it goes well with the fashion depicted in the video as well as AKIRA Chicago's spring/summer line.

Blog for my Blog
So going off our last assignments we have been asked to writte a blog about spring/summer trends. So here you have it people trends to come!
Summer 2010
This summer shows some of the hottest trends from last year with some girly new twists.
Lingerie has taken on a whole new role this season. It’s leaving the bedroom and coming out. Loungerie, as its been termed can be seen on the runways of shows such as Christian Dior, Reyes, Max Azria, and Blumarine as well as actresses. It is spreading its influence from boustier tops of 2010 to the crops tops and sheer dresses.
This summer style is fresh, modern, and exciting, very much what we need now.

Lace has also come back this year and can be seen on the runway and in tv shows. It has been uses to accent everyday tops and can be seen in swimsuits.
This season we can look for an explosions of prints, flower power, polka dots. The Sixties are back and it’s a blast of colors. Everything summer always looks better with a lot of fun colors and designers are embracing the diversity. Flower prints from last year as well as much louder prints are hitting the summer racks and can be seen emerging on the streets.
Designers are making a huge revival of the Fashion decade. Look for wide legged pants, tap shorts and bloomers, pant suit, tweed, maxi-dresses, ruffles. These looks going off of the 2010 rompers are flaring up. last years romper is coming back strong and you can expect to see those stylish high waist shorts again this year.
In shoes and accessories we see a lot of the trends from last year with a daintier more refines twist. Jewelry is more dainty and lightweight to match the lighter material. Shoes are a variation on last year with high heel and even some lace mixed in.
This summer style is fresh, modern, and exciting, very much what we need now.
